READ THIS FIRST - You assume the risk of IP bans, console bans, and PSN account lockouts by modifying game files.
You increase that risk by surprising unsuspecting companions. All it takes is one unhappy player reporting you!
Modding games comes with certain risks. These guidelines are here to protect you.
Here are a few additional thoughts on sharing explorations of mods others have made. We're all friends here but in order to keep it that way, keep these things in mind when streaming or youtubing. The TL;DR is "be polite."
Hopefully these seem like common sense/fair rules to live by.
With these warnings in mind, enjoy modding (or as some would say, "hacking"). Play responsibly!! Anyone can view the "How to Mod" sub-forum, but if you'd like to *contribute* to the modding sub-forum, reply to this thread acknowledging your consent to these rules.

Modding games comes with certain risks. These guidelines are here to protect you.
- Scarf hacking has been known to upset companions in the distant past. It's recommended still to not engage in this behavior around new players.
- TEXTURE-ONLY modifications are harmless to companions and are generally OK.
- Mods that change level geometry, collisions, triggers, and physics can dramatically and negatively impact the play of companions if they are unaware. If you want to test how a mod interacts with a vanilla Journey, ask a friend to join you or get another PS3 or PC!
- Modding games is not an activity that Sony or Epic condone. TGC forum admin Amish_Gramish had expressed publicly in the forum that he was not opposed to modding. You won't get in trouble with TGC. TGC does NOT represent Sony or Epic. Sony holds the copyrights, and they hold the power over your PSN accounts.
- Launching PC Journey directly from the EXE *instead* of through the Epic launcher, and will allow you to explore your work offline and out of harm's way.
Here are a few additional thoughts on sharing explorations of mods others have made. We're all friends here but in order to keep it that way, keep these things in mind when streaming or youtubing. The TL;DR is "be polite."
- If someone creates and shares modded files, that person should be given precedence in streaming and/or YouTube publishing.
- If someone shares a mod they haven't shown off, ask before streaming or otherwise publishing.
- If it's already on the creator's twitchtube channel, and the mod is shared, it's fair game for further publishing by the rest of us.
- Attribution is always appreciated, but not required. This whole process has been very much a collaboration. None of us are fully responsible for a single thing, and trying to attribute everything might get tedious and circular.
- Special cases will probably exist for some or all of these, so be thoughtful and courteous.
- If you are making mods and aren't ready for others to stream it, then hold onto it so nobody will be confused about when it's safe to share.
Hopefully these seem like common sense/fair rules to live by.
