cinder Omg I forgot about Fat Princess, that's such a fun game to goof around with. xD
Origin had a generous sale recently, so I decided to pick up a few games, including the Sims 4! I got the base game + Cats & Dogs bundle, as well as the City Living expansion. Currently waiting for Seasons to go on sale! Pets are almost a necessity for me, so that was an obvious pick. I finally got Apartment Life for 2, and wanted a similar experience in 4.
I've been a fan of the Sims since the first game. 2 was where I spent most of my time, and I actually rekindled my love of 2 a month or so ago. I skipped 3 entirely and I actually don't think I'd play it after investing time into 4.
My general thoughts: I enjoy it overall more than 2. The moodlets are neat, and I love that certain moods will boost your Sim's ability to learn a skill. The customization options are fun, and I adore the cartoony style. Loading is a non-issue on my laptop for most games, outside of maybe GTAV, but I love how quickly 4 loads even compared to 2. Traveling to different lots is so quick and easy, as is inviting other people to tag along. Building and decorating is way more enjoyable as well.
My only big complaint is the lack of content, and that some basic stuff from previous games is locked behind a paywall (like hot tubs!? Dining out as well!? wtf). I basically have to keep an eye out for sales at this point for some of those things, which sucks but oh well. The game is overall an improvement, but that is still a disappointing factor. OH! And I dislike that each city has a set number of lots. That's one thing I will miss about 2: the ability to add as many lots that will fit in a map.
The one expansion I hope they bring back soon is University. It was a nice change of pace from the normal home life, plus the boost it gave to adult Sims was really awesome.
