It's been a long time coming, but Journey is soon to be released for the PC! Article on PolygonArticle on PCGamerDetails: - It will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store
- It will be distributed by Annapurna Interactive
(For whom Jenova Chen served as adviser apparently? They previously ported Flower to iOS.) - A release date isn’t yet known; the store states “coming soon.”
Soon we will have a whole new bunch of friends, even if it's likely that we won't see them as companions in our playthroughs!

It's been a long time coming, but Journey is soon to be released for the PC! ...snip... Wow!!! I've been so programmed to think that Journey was locked into the PS world that I never imagined that it would eventually appear on the PC. So many questions: (to no one in particular) - do the PS3/4 controllers plug work seamlessly with PCs? (for me this is unfamiliar ground) - who's hosting the rendezvouses? - and will there be a subscription fee? - which Windows OS versions are being targetted? - ...?

I had an opportunity to Journey once this evening. Here are my thoughts!
Keyboard controls seem fine. They used Ctrl/RMB for flight, and Space/LMB for chirp, as I recall. Rebinding was supported, and I'd likely swap the keyboard controls were I to use them instead of the mouse.
(I played using a PS3 controller paired via bluetooth personally, and I felt it handled as it did on the PS.)
I met two companions, one who ghosted me promptly, and a second with whom I completed the Broken Bridge, but no more. I made the rest of the run solo. (Thanks Satori_Tendou and Tenyuu, respectively!)
Differences I noticed: - Added menus aren't quite as polished as the PS versions, but are similarly styled
- There are graphics added for prompting keyboard use (or controller) at the very start
- Sand texture rendered differently, seemed to have more swirling particle effects?
- Some animations seem faster? (ex: frond waving in tunnels)
- Face-planting seemed much harder to me
- The audio mix was quite good over all, but occasionally seemed slightly off.
A single SFX might play a little louder than the rest of the mix, bringing attention to itself. I noticed ~3 SFX I'd never noticed before, I assume because they were more effectively mixed into the ambient sound?
- Credits text runs slightly faster to accommodate Annapurna folks at the end (the company who did the port)
- Credits paused briefly twice, both during fade-to-black scene transitions
It looks nice! On default it is still crisper than the PS3 to my eye, and on high/ultra it matches the PS4.
It ran CPU-bound on my oldish machine, with (rare) brief but abrupt frame-rate dips when CPU couldn't keep up. On default settings I had it at a solid ~90fps with almost none of the odd dips. On high or ultra, it ran at a consistent ~70fps until the CPU couldn't keep up, at which point it'd drop to 25fps for a tenth of a second. This would happen every few minutes on high, and about once a minute on ultra for me.
(CPU: i7-2600K, GPU: R9 390)
Over all it looks quite nice, and seems like it should run very well unless your CPU is an old fellow like mine!
The ability to take a quick screenshot was novel for me!

Hmm, did any one else have any issues with Journey hiccuping? It runs full frames with the graphics fairly close to max (my machine is six years old, now), but sometimes it'll just hiccup! It's annoying.
Also, is there any way to fly solo? Sometimes I like playing through by myself, and I don't want to run into any one else. I hate being rude and ditching people, but sometimes I enjoy exploring alone and taking screenshots.

I had good success getting rid of them by dialing the settings back a bit.
The good fps indicates that your GPU is having no issues with the rendering, but if it can't get the appropriate resources from the CPU, it can't help but skip frames.
(If you aren't aware:) Getting your white robe allows you to recharge your scarf by touching the ground. That should help with getting to nice vantage points.

Odd, because even when I do lower the settings, it doesn't help at all. My CPU only seems to sit about ~50% when running Journey and whatever else I have in the background... I could try to lighten the load on it, see if it'll help. I should've phrased that better: is there an offline mode, so I can play by myself without running into others? Sometimes I enjoy playing alone and/or taking screenshots without a partner. On that note though, I already got my white robe first playthrough.

Oh hey, looks like the framerate issues are when you are paired with another companion. That's why I've been having issues - I ran by myself and didn't have any framerate issues once.

Just yesterday someone posted a link to twitter, where they say they are aware of the problems (sound and lag), working on them, appreciating feedback and the patience... Too many different links to collect them all. You can head to discord and techsupport channel or also look at this page: journey.gamepedia.com/FAQ_and_Help_for_PC_versionand also the according twitter (which i dont know atm.. :D)
