And i think i will start...
Today i was planning to journey and document it in this thread from the very beginning, haha.
I decided to go with the first companion that i meet and try to be any help to them, and with this atittude i went to BB! Very shortly i got connected to a nice reddie with the same scarf and the same tier as me! they chirped and warped around a bit, before sitting and dusting.
After that a wild white robe appeared! They didn't know or use fancy flying, but they did fly around me like a happy bird! They were showing me to symbols, and when i fell from the bridge with empty scarf, they jumped from the shrine to help me again! (it was clearly a very tough decision for them, haha!)
They were warping a lot as well, and on our second attempt to conquer the BB shrine they sat and dusted.
Then i met a first run who was an absolute chirping madman!! They were chirping happily at everything, they were trying to fly constantly! They learned tandem flying so very quickly. They were waiting on me and i was waiting on them, and it was so great! They were warping so much that hanging in the air motionlessly was probably more often than they were actually moving, lol! It led to some nice carpet glitches in the PD! As well as to the disconnect at the factory. I bet i was warping a lot for them as well, spoiling their game, so maybe disconnect was a good thing. However it made me reluctant to continue playing.

I just sniped this russian first run. Not sure if it was his first time, but he get how to tandem fly as soon as we met in BB.
But he was also in a hurry ans didn't want to walk. He was cool and I heard he thanked me few times in russian, for showing a symbol. He was flying a big part of the SC slide and skipped the rest stop too. He had a cool glitch in paradise, where the music shuts after the second section, I was jealous  But can't figure if he was enjoying really as he ended the stream afte the CMATW.  |

Haha i am watching this streamer's VOD now. He speaks in really peculiar manner as if he is a host on a radio channel! he watched a lot of stuff about the game before playing, it's story and stuff and was telling it to the chat. cool! In the first hl this guy was sure that in this game our main objective would be to change the place so it will be full of birds and flowers. Made me think of how much i love journey for not doing anything of that :) he calls flyers - spirits of the dead ! He is also very sure that you are an NPC because "i doubt someone plays this game still" :| so he is not really aknowledging you as a person, alas. looking at your actions he said that this game is a good pseudo-multiplayer. He loved the game though! But please mimor next time you snipe someone russian - write to me! i can translate you some stuff as you play, and have fun participating in chat! also the music stopping glitch is very cool indeed! i remember your story about it, but i never witnessed it. mimor your mission is to understand how to do it :D |

Sandsurfing, carving and gybing through the sand back to the start of the PD is always a favourite, as is dallying in the kelp room. I've only managed to nail that boost spot recently and most companions just collect the symbol and are off. The UG was fun - that beamdown to trigger the ambush WM worked perfectly from my pov and we both made it to the top of the shrine building yay! Thanks very much for giving me the Tower whale, that's the first time I've caught him on the way out of his room and no dc's. Another memorable moment was super-boosting in the snow glitch. Wow, you do get some height from under the edge of the level ...perhaps a bit too much as I couldn't see a thing and was afraid I'd get lost but now I need to find a few more of those to try out! Hope you're up for that next time. More coasting in the snow and a very precise drop down right at the end of the WM field. Couldn't have planned it better if we'd tried. Paradise was lovely a little quiet moment meditating at the top of Stoicmom's mountain then joyous swirling into the heavens streaming our sparkling trails behind us. Untethered jellies to nudge about and a final climb to the very top of the mountain ....apologies that we missed out on the beamdown there as I lost sight of you and the next minute I was plunging down. For a moment I thought I was stuck and had lost you, but luckily all was well and there you were coming towards me on the final walkway I haven't a clue what you were drawing, but I always appreciate the artistic efforts of my companions as all I can ever manage is wobbly hearts and flowers. Thanks  for the fun times and for being a lovely companion and journey friend and one can never have too many smilies. |

This could almost fit a "apologies topic", but I could message my companion who I think won't come over there in a minute.
Today I abandonned a newbie WC out of bounds in Sunken City 
I met them in BB and they were looking intested in various stuff, and was able to charge me and wanted to tandem fly.
At the SC shrine, they very quickly followed without I insist and we went oob very quick by climbing the south wall.
They followed me well to the buildings along the final slide. We sat a bit then. Then they went like a bit crazy. I wanted to bring them back into the level, but they stopped to follow me and just flew in every random direction.
Tried to call them and make them just walk 2 sec without succes. They ended at least 10 times behind the same wall at the same spot. Each time I got them and was about to make them back into the level, and each time they flew at the opposite. They even stopped to chirp so I had touble to find them. So after one hour of this game, I let them fly to their adventures I dunno where and we DC naturally. I rushed the game and wrote an appologie than is still without reply.
It was a weird athmosphere though, but didn't felt really bad

wow mimor such a strange behaviour from your companion! and they were doing the same for around an hour? they were probably not enjoying this experience very much, i wonder why did they refuse to follow. maybe they thought you are a broken NPC? :D
i hope they will write you and tell you how they saw this whole thing from their side! i am curious! ^^
Yesterday night i met a quiet and dreamy companion who was silently dancing in the waterfalls and mostly walking through all the nice scenery, not flying too much. they went a vanilla journey, but they asked to lead in the snow, so we did a bit of glitching there, and they were as thoughtful as a follower as they were a leader before. it was a nice journey!

Yeah, I felt that they started to not be happy. ^^' Weird thing is that they didn't show this at the start of the oob exiting. They looked quite amazed, I would say.
They replied this " Hehe, I'm sorry too. Let's say that I had enough with my self through a completely different journey. But next time! Love that game..."

mimor i did not understand that they were trying to say :0 well seems like they promised to be more tame the next time?.. this is good, haha!
today i met magnifyer! it's a nice companion who dwells a lot in psn journey community, sharing great pictures and helping others with answers. we were both reddies, and we went through bb as 2 normal reddies, gathering glyps and going through hl, untill in pd we understood that we both can fly :D it was a blast! we were flying through windows and flyer boosting and what not! magnifyer is very good in catching carpets in air to charge from them! it was great to see! in ug we spent some time infolved in some strange activities. we were tandem flying above wm rooms, and magnifyer was going to different directions, and i was following, clueless of what we do. still not sure if we were searching for something or just enjoying the green gradients around, but it was fun  but alas, in ug i have to leave for a while, and take care of irl stuff, so we parted  this is third time i meet magnifyer! 2 previous times we were stuck in the tower oob as reddies with no goo, i wonder it that would have happened in this meeting as well! :D |

today i met stoicmom in bb! i really wanted to just relax and maybe accompany a nice first run, when a crazy chirpy white robe fell on me from skies! you led me mostly the vanilla path, but boy that was such fun vanilla path! chirping and wiggling on our way, not bothering with any advance stuff, only continuously trying to strangle each other with scarves in our never ending dances  thank you mom! in the tower you clearly wanted me to lead, but when i refused, you agreed and let me follow you. i am thankful for that! the whole journey took less than an hour, haha, but it was a blast! ^O^ / |

 I am going to try to get back into the diary writing that I use to do in the old forums. I must learn to manage my time better in order to do that. I have had been on at least 6 journeys since the new forum was birthed: (apno and guri); (omgitzmary); (ava and still no one);and (vec, the journey lover). Veterans and noobs are such a delightful contrast.  Apno is always full of surprises with his understanding and precision in demonstrating the wonderful experiences that Journey offers. Even when I continue to derp, he can make good things happen with what otherwise would have been a fail. guri speaks simple chinese and japanese, but apparently used google translate in order for us to share together in a delightful message following our journey . . . full of lots of PSN emotes.  omgitzmary is from the UK and was so kind about our time spent together. New Friends are wonderful!  ava shared our time together in her post, but I want to reiterate that the time with her was so relaxing and beautiful just taking it slow and easy - nothing fancy, just enjoying each other's company. still no one sniped like a pro and we had a couple of hours to share. This was so good! We have not journeyed together in a while  Tonight was spent with vec, the journey lover. This was another easy going, relaxing, and lovely journey together. I felt in my heart that this traveler could do anything as a reddie that he wanted. he refrained until he flew high and beautifully in the skies of Paradise. The mega sized heart was especially meaningful that he drew in the snow before I even knew it to be him. Thank you to each of you for continuing to make Journey such a special place of sharing for me just because of you!

A random memory of a Japanese companion who spent AGES with me in the whale room trying to teach me how to phase through the floor. Then, suddenly, I got it! There was much chirping.

today i had two very different journeys. on the first one i followed a very happy and chirpy white robe, who didn't care much to show me symbols, but they enjoyed all the little shortcuts thw game can offer (like going to the left and flying up to the top of the factory instead of circling it around). because of this i thought that they might really enjoy oob! and wondered whether i should show them any, but then decided to continue to follow. in ug they seemed to be afraid of wm, but it was a lot of fun! they took good care of me and were very careful! then in the snow they went to oob through the heater room ceiling... i followed them shortly, and decided that while we are here, we can have fun and i can show them around. but companion stopped paying attention and started to fly to different directions for some time, till finally they sat down, went afk for 30 minutes before dusting away. it seemed like they were confused by oob and also regretful that they led their companion to this unknown place. it was a sad ending to a beautiful journey. and several hours later in bb i met mimor i saw a companion going for a charge boost and thought of disconnecting, but then decided to see what companion is it. probably my best decision today :D this was an incredible journey filled with coasting, coasting and more coasting. my VPN was merciful today, and we had the smoothest connection! we coasted close to the ground, and high above. we did tiny accidental coasts and super gigantic long coasting journeys from north SC blackness to south, haha! on this journey mimor lost his scarf in the sc, and his robe in paradise!  between beatiful coasts we mainly just messed around, danced, danced more, chirped chirped chirped. this was so relaxing and simple, such a beautiful company my friend mimor. merci! |
